In the 2018 calendar of the Rallye 1000 Bornes, the trip on the Spanish roads of Santiago de Compostela was brand new.
About thirty crews met at the Château de Brindos in Anglet before embarking on a week-long journey between the Basque Country, Asturias, Cantabria and Galicia. Nearly 1200 km, punctuated by charming stops in the Paradores hotels and visits such as the Museo Fernando Alonso or the guided tour of the old town of Santiago de Compostela.
This friendly trip under a bright sky brought together an eclectic line-up ranging from the Fiat Dino to the Jaguar XK 140, not to mention the Porsche Speedster, Alfa GTC or TVR. The variety and richness of the landscapes crossed seduced all the participants from France, Belgium and Switzerland.
An exceptional moment should be noted with the privileged arrival on the square of the Cathedral of St Jacques and its crowd of pilgrims.
