Classic 1000 Bornes 2019

Guillaume Non classé

Departure from Haute Savoie on Thursday 4 July for this “Classic 1000 bornes” rally. Indeed, since 30 years, Rallye 1000 Bornes team drives you on the most beautiful roads in Europe, it was well worth a special edition on the original lands of the 1000 Bornes.

Crews present were able to discover (or rediscover!) our team’s favourite playground: 650 km of beautiful roads in Haute-Savoie, famous passes, exceptional landscapes…

A first stage between Le Grand-Bornand and Megève with ascent of the Col de la Colombière and a nice tour in Grand Massif and the Col de Joux Plane will have allowed us to reach Megève, a typical Haute-Savoie village nestled in the heart of the Mont Blanc region in an exceptional setting. The next day, direction Chamonix with a deviation to Switzerland via the Col de la Forclaz and Martigny before returning to France via the Pas de Morgins. Competitors will have had the opportunity to enjoy a lunch on the shores of Lake Geneva before heading towards Le Salève and stop at one of Annecy’s most prestigious establishments: the Imperial Palace and its breathtaking view of the lake. The 3rd stage will have led us to discover the small roads of the Massif des Bauges with a stop in an old oil mill for a tasting. Finally, to finish this rally, we took the Col des Aravis road back down to the Val d’Arly and had lunch “les pieds dans l’eau” at the Abbey of Talloires.

The team Nicolas and Gwenaëlle HELIGON won this rally on Porsche 911 2L4 S.
